My trading journey began with the possibility of getting out of the debt I was and still a little in.
It was very tough because you can pick any ticker symbol in any market almost, and there will be someone saying they have a fool proof method.
My first introduction was of course to robinhood where I made some money off of a crypto spike. From there I was hooked. I spent time in a few rug pulls loosing hundreds then I moved on to options.
This space is very full of gurus and of course they have something to sell you.
I do not sell anything but I provide discount codes to prop firms to be transparent. Now back to options. Learning about theta and delta and in the money and out, well that never panned out well for me.
There are so many components that can make an impact on options such as seasonality, earnings, relative rotation that it was just too much. Also losing money every day you hold before expiration wasn’t in my mind a way to win.
Then I discovered Forex. I’ll keep it short because for me I didn’t get enough movement or volume consistently in the pairs I was in. Usually USD/CAD.
I forgot I spent about 6 months in penny stocks catching spikes and jumping out. Although with not a lot of capital this can be a slow way to grow an account.
By now I knew the basics of charting, chart patterns, candles and marking up supply and demand zones.
Now fast forward about a year when I found out about prop firms and trading futures.
Futures which is basically buying contracts is where I found my sweet spot. I trade only the NAS100 after the NY opening as a moment trader.
I do top down analysis from the 4hr to 5 min timeframe while marking up support and resistance zones.
I have found that it is easier to either buy or sell in whatever direction the market moves rather than try to predict longer moves.
I hold trades usually less than a minute. So thats my why in a nutshell.
Check back for some more insights and entertainment as I do not give out financial advice but only the techniques I use.
